Copying your Canvas course site

It’s very common for instructors to copy a Canvas course from one semester’s site to another. When you are copying a site that contains a Terracotta experiment, though, you’ll need to take a few extra steps to ensure everything works properly, because you cannot copy a Terracotta experiment between courses.

  1. Copy your Canvas site as usual.

  2. Note assignments that were created in Terracotta in the previous semester (including an informed consent assignment, if you had one), and delete them.

  3. Also note the design of your experiment and any settings you’ll w

  4. Create a new experiment in Terracotta, and recreate all assignments.

We know that this process isn’t ideal, and import/export functionality for experiments is on our roadmap.
